Visual Statement

Our topic is about Exploring Nature and our message is to get outside and experience the beautiful world we have. Its about making moments you will never forget. Most people just stay at home and don't do anything when they could be out enjoying life. Its important for us because we want to share how we feel on what we both love to do and thats experiencing nature. The project that we have created had to be between 2 and 3 minutes have music and a script we could only use pictures and videos that we have taken we also wanted to make it meaningful and be able to move the audience. My partner Makaiao helped write the visual plan and did a great job of providing ideas and trusting me with the lead photographer role.

I am actually used to editing in different editing programs. The editing is basically the same but in a different area.  Using the FCPX Libraries, Events and Projects properly will help you clear time and finish your projects faster and more efficiently. In my honest opinion soundscape is one of the most important thing in a video because without audio the audience isn't immersed. Proper audio use will make your video so much better because it adds more depth to your video.

The hardest part in this group project was having do deal with a major obstacle and something very personal to me. Emotionally I was not okay and the drive to film things stopped because I could not overcome it

Modern Art Movement

Kyle and I's art movement was Digital Art. It basically started the photoshop styled creations. It broke to the mold of the paints and brushes and sculptors and started the digital trend. Since it was all made in computers it started new artist to use computers and made it a trend to make art in photoshop. I think an artist contribute a lot to culture. An example of that is Leonardo Da Vinci whose work is so sought after.

"Mickey Mouse'', Andy Warhol, 1972
Andy Warhol , Marilyn Monroe, 1962
Andy Warhol created the Digital Art trend all the way back in the 1960's. I think he was trying to make a statement in the 1960's that you can make art digitally and you can do it well. I do think a single artist can persuades someones perception based on their art because if you look a artist like bansky. He is creating street art and making street art appropriate and inspiring artist to start street art. In my opinion it easier to make art digitally and in a way that set us back artistically since its so much easier now. Art is so much easier these days that we don't really pay attention to paints and canvases

Workplace Safety

The project goal for our project was avoiding hostile work environments. We basically explained the different examples of a hostile work environment and showed the consequences of a hostile work environment. Preston did a tremendous job of leading the team and I commend him for establishing his leadership with the team while I was absent. He did the script and thought of a creative idea to film our topic. Makena was the artistic mind and was also the emotional support of the group. She made sure when me and Preston had disagreements we figured it out.  Preston definitely deserves the team mvp for taking leadership and leading the group to finishing the video.

My biggest takeaway from this project was probably the planning stage and how stressful it was. The planning stage gave us headaches because we didn't know what we were going to do and struggled at times when we couldn't agree on what we were gonna do. Im glad we got to finish the project. Our lowest score was entertainment value. The thing about that being our lowest score is that we weren't going for any funny skits, we were going for a straightforward and informative video.  One thing i would definitely done better is the audio and fixing it. I would have loved to recorded the audio somewhere quiet but we were limited with time.

Art and Design

The elements of art used is line, shape, value and texture. I used lines to trace the object in the picture and used lines again to create texture on how the object would feel. The size of the brush can dictate how the shade is gonna be . For example if you have a large brush size it would be a large blob the shade would be darker. My technique definitely showed the texture of the wallet but the photo was pretty basic in terms of shade and textures. I think tracing was the most enjoyable and easier. The hardest part was going through with shading and repeating the same thing over and over.

I got this photo from pixabay and I really liked the way it looked. I didn't use my original landscape picture that I took because I did not get the results that I wanted. There are some similarities  in my still and landscape. One thing in common is definitely how the line is drawn and how it adds a textured look.  I took the easy way out and took the basic beginner approach because I was a little behind and Im not as advanced on photoshop as I am on Lightroom. Taking the beginner approach was a good pick although I would have loved to went on with the advanced approach. It kinda looks like a line drawing but the lake gives it away.

Finally, tell us a little about the portrait photo you are using... Where was it taken? Who is in it, What does it mean to you? Explain how this final image use all of the Elements of Art. Lastly, concluded with a summary of your critique results... Do you agree with them, why or why not?

The photo was taken around February of last year and the location was by Ponokai Beach Resort. This photo meant a lot to me because its the photo of the girl that got away.  I was very childish during the time of getting to know each other.  We both liked each other at the time and the photo was taken at the very first time of hanging out. The elements of art used were Line, Texture, and Value. I used line to trace the outline of the face. Texture to recreate a pencil drawing effect. Then Value to to show the difference between the pencil effect and Pencil drawing. I actually agree with my critique results and I definitely could use more time to finish my mixed psd.

Audio Production

It can make a video interesting if the voice keeps it interesting. The author sometimes sets the mood for the story.  I was originally the host for my group but I got sick and went home. The rehearsal process is the most important because it can make or break a production. If you rehearse something to perfection it will be a smoother process once you actually do the thing you were rehearsing for. Everyone needs to know what they're doing and how they're doing it before the rehearsal.

My team did very well and I think they did the project with relative ease and had no problems. My team had charisma and kept the audience engaged.  Most obstacles we had to face were getting through the audio file with one take. The laughing and making mistakes were also a problem. If i had to do it again with the same people I would gladly do it again. One thing we could improve on is most likely keeping our script shorter.

Some examples for confidential things are your Social security number, Credit card numbers, and
Confidentiality is something intended to be kept secret. An example of something that needs to be confidential is your social security number, because its your human identification number. Your credit card number and your birthday. Social media exposes some peoples private information wether they know it or not. It some cases Social media ruined someones life.  Censorship is basically taking away your 1st amendment and not letting people make a stance and write the way the feel. While the 5th amendment doesn't allow anyone to use their information. I feel like Censorship violates both amendments.

Market Shifts

A market is a place where people gather to interact to buy or sell goods. As technology is evolving the demand for better technology is increasing. An example of this is Netflix and other streaming websites have killed movie and other dvd sellers like blockbuster. Another example is online shopping  for clothes and shoes that are making shopping easier and attracting more and more people to online shop. This leads to pop up shops to lose money. An example of this is footlocker on kauai closing because of online businesses and how easy it is to buy shoes online.

After the doing the Basic skills survey I have realized I am very weak with 4 different subjects and need to work on getting better. My top result was learning strategies. My lowest was definitely math and that is very accurate. I can improve my math skill by working hard with my teachers to get caught up with math. I can use my learning strategies by adapting and telling companies how to learn to adapt and change through the market shift by telling them the current trends so they don't lose money. I can help them keep up and make money.
